Something in Kent is a registered charity based in Maidstone and founded in 2017. We help local people make the most of their lives, their skills and their community.
This is done through three programmes:
- Into-Work Support
- Sports Activities
- Social Engagement
In 2024/25 we supported 4,553 people across Kent working alongside more than 20 partner organisations.
Our Team
We are a small team that does a lot. Two part-time support workers run our activities with the help of 64 volunteers and we are proud to be an accredited Real Living Wage employer. Four trustees meet quarterly to oversee the charity: Mark Dent (Chair), Vincent Jasper (Treasurer), Martin Grech (Secretary) and David Standen, a former service user.

How We Are Run
We take our responsibilities seriously. Our trustees meet quarterly, our accounts are independently examined, and every payment needs two unrelated signatories. On this page you can download our safeguarding policy and our annual reports and accounts, so you can see how we work and how we spend the money entrusted to us.
